Pecola Breedlove, in the novel The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison, believes she is just like the dandelions, "…ugly" (39) and nobody liked or wanted her. Pecola, a black girl with nappy hair and dark eyes, desperately yearns for "… blue eyes of a little white girl…" (137).
