Not all people in New York are buried in a luxurious mausoleum or a marble crypt. Folks with no funds and no one to declare their remains end up in New York City memorial park, well-known as Potter's Field. It has been in different locations over the previous 200 years: previously where the City Hall is located today and later on in what is currently called Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, a relatively fashionable and pricey district.

It ultimately moved to Hart Island, now just off the coastline of the Bronx in New York.
