India is a possible fertile ground for the decay of democracy and governments plagued by corruption, authoritative leadership and ruthless bureaucracy. While the West Minister system stood the challenges of Indian democracy in the first two decades of post-independent India, it failed to cope up with new challenges posed by the new actors in the Indian politics. Therefore, the appendages of rule of law have been tinkered to cope up with new political situations. Incidents of powerlessness have been a great factor for the rising frustration among the younger generation and ultimately they take recourse to radical movement and try to destabilize the government.
