Load Balancing In Qos Aware Mobile Computer Science
A mobile ad hoc grid is an architecture where nodes with high computational processing provide service to the nodes with lower computational processing. The battery power of the service provider nodes tend to drain while providing service to the consumer nodes. The existing algorithms don't address the problem of battery drain in the nodes. Hence a load balancing strategy has to be developed to prevent service provider node's battery life time deteriorating due to frequent service processing. A load balancing algorithm is proposed taking into account of the battery lifetime of the nodes. The load index values are accordingly calculated and task scheduling is done in such a way that the load of the entire grid is balanced. This is done at the application level. A modified destination source routing (DSR) protocol has also been developed, to conserve the network's lifetime. A new parameter called battery power is introduced into the request and reply packets of DSR. Routing paths are dynamically selected which can lead to considerable improvement in the throughput of the grid and the results are evaluated accordingly.
